window regulator tabs

Hey guys. Just bought a 94 4Runner SR5. Drivers window wouldnt work so I pulled the door panel to find the regulator assembly in the bottom of the door, bent, and a block of wood holding up the glass. Yay. So I went to put the new regulator in and realized that the plastic tabs that glue to the glass and bolt to the regulator are snapped off too. Local parts stores can't get them, and I'm having a hard time finding them anywhere online either. Any ideas where I can get a couple? A working drivers window would be great. Thanks in advance!

Try your local 'pull & save' or whatever you have in your area. You will probably have to get the whole window to get those tabs as they are glued on real good.

That's not a bad idea... Any ideas how to get them off without breaking anything? Just in case they'll sell them separately?

Are talking about the "glass channel and weatherstrip"? http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b.../3frontdoo.pdf

I don't know enough about the window regulator to recognize the parts, but it looks like it's less than $15 here. http://www.toyotapartsoverstock.com/...rimLevel=18292 Even with shipping, I would guess a new part usually beats pulling one from a wreck.

Your choice, but take some pictures and let us know how it works out.

So I found the broken piece that I needed in the bottom of the door. Whipped up a batch of permatex plastic weld and stuck it back on. Will know tomorrow if it holds. Window motor is bad though so I'll be off to the junk yard soon to get a motor and regulator. $30 for the whole assembly. Not bad. Now if I can figure out what's wrong with the back window I'll be set. The motor runs with the switch up front and with the key, but all I get is a loud buzzing noise and no movement. I can get it to go down with a horrible jerking motion, if i pull down on it with the motor running but it goes back up just fine. My guess is that the gear on the motor is stripped or something.
