will 1st gen control arms fit second gen

hey guys well im back in a 4runner again after not having one for almost 2 years. and the one i got has been fighting me all the way, lesson learned get your vehicles inspected before you buy them ... anyway my driver side lower control arm rusted through, i didnt check it when i looked it over cuz i never heard of it happening before. anyway the question i have is will a lower control arm from a first gen fit a second gen runner?

Not sure ... I would go longtravel though!

(Actually, all the longtravel kits seem to fit either, so at least the mounting points are the same between the two)

Well, yes, they do fit.

Remember, you are only as poor as you choose to be.

I put in gears, two air lockers, 4.7 tcase, and butt load more when I was in college, but I worked 2 jobs, never partied, seldom went out, and still ended up with a decent amount of money in the bank. Its all about where your priorities are.

you have a point, but, the thing with me is that i wanted to not work and do it all with student loans so i can dedicate my week to study because
i needs my weekends free.... and about my priorities,i think i got them in order, i dont party or go out or anything either, and the reason i needs my weekends free is cuz my 2 year old daughter and my girlfriend live 4 hours away from me.... no excuse for some but its enough for me. so thats where most of my money goes.

and for ewong- thanks but i live in Newfoundland, Canada, so shipping would prolly be more expensive then to buy it locally, again thanks for the offer .... but i found another 4runner tonight for $350 with excellent control arms and as a bonus, manual locking hubs. so ill be picking that up soon. thanks again guys

If you are going to replace your lower arms, look for a '95. Toyota added a longer strip of aluminum to the steering stops. This helps when the stops hit at full extention and it also cuts down the need for the nylon covers.
