the swap doesn't seem hard???..it's almost plug n play...especially since it all bolts in..and i can use a lot of my stock parts..

i think i can do the swap for arounddd..$1000 or so...not including the price for the motor..lol

of course i could be wrong LOL

gonna do the 2" body lift for multiple reasons other than not having to cut the hood lol

and theres a Tacoma prerunner around here (with e-locked rear end ) that has a 3.4..but it's auto lol..and i know the woman would let go of the motor for a decent price...BUT IT'S AUTO!!! FML lmao

the wiring is definitely the hardest part i've read about so far.....for sure
just get that engine and rear locker. trany doesnt matter just use yours and get a manual ecu right?

yeah you gotta have the engine, wiring harness and ECU out of a manual transmission truck/4runner.

yepp..i know this you guys LOL..i've been reading a LOT! over the past few months

and i just remembered...ORS shut down last year ..so no wiring harness from them LOL

the wiring will be the hardest part...if i can pull the motor and such myself then i will likely just cut off what i won't need on the harness to make it a little easier..and then label everything as well

and i haven't been able to find anywhere about eliminating the smog stuff on the 3.4?? or if you even can and still have a good running motor LOL

There are people that have done the swap with an auto motor but manual ECU, the stuff just has to be wired right. And you have to have a good understanding what you can and can't match. It just appears easier when you get everything from the same donor, that's how I'm gonna do it next time. Yotatech has saved my a$$ on this swap, I wouldn't be able to do it without the people in the 3.4 swap section. There are some awesome write ups there.
3.4 seems like a win-win to me! I love the body style of my truck but hate the engine so it will be perfect in my book!

yea that's a pretty good price for a Reman motor dude lol

theres one at a wrecker for $1000 and it has 80,000 factory maintained miles on it LOL

im thinking for my swap..to NOT SPEND MORE THAN $1000 ON THE MOTOR!! lol

im hoping that i can pick one up for around $800 or so lol

most of the ones on craigslist around here are going for $1000 or over

Thanks! I got them a long time ago from a local shop. You may be able to find them on ebay now. I'm sure someone still makes them. I didn't do the rear because I wanted to keep the red but make the rest clear. I haven't gotten around to looking for any...
