how about you give us your list of mods if you've done a bunch of work on it?

Not many people modify the 3vz-e, I prefer to keep mine stock. Can't risk blowing anything on my dd.

What are you trying to achive since most of those mods are begging for forced induction to be added.

To me it seems a bit overmodded for the HP gains you might see which might be less than you'd expect unless an SC is in the future.

What emissions did you remove which most of us can't do?

ISR
NGK V-power plugs gapped @ .036 w/ACCEL super stock solid core wires
ALL deleterious emissions crap removed(EGR & PAIR gone, kept PCV & EVAP intact)
Coolant hose under intake plenum by-passed
Ignition timing ~ 23-24* BTDC(on 92 octane gas ONLY)
No muffler
Semi-hollow cat(half of the catalyst removed)
AFM 3 clicks lean

Dyno schmyno! I couldn't care less! I'm more than pleased with the results and the price(less than $100)!

It didn't seem to make a noticeable difference in how hot it tends to run. Possibly, but very little if any. I still can't barely get the temp gauge past the mid-point on a super hot day, climbing steep hills. That could be because of the ignition timing advancement, which should be lowering combustion temps. Forgot to mention I run it strictly on 92 octane gas now too(added to prev. post). That allowed me a couple of degrees more advanced without too much pinging.

I did, however, notice a decent power/mpg increase. I'd say at least a whole mpg gain, and much better throttle response. My plugs also showed that I was running rich before-hand, and it totally solved that problem. I'd deffinetely recommend it to anyone with the same issue, or wanting a little extra fuel efficiency and/or fuel economy.

wow you maybe got 10hp more out of all that for 1100. That is insane. You can pick up very low mileage 4.3 drivtrain for like $100. I stuck with the 3.4 swap and my 3.4 was only 1000 and I still have alot more hp than you.

What does everybody say they notice more power after modding their 3vz??? Is it because of the denial and dont want to admit that they wasted all the time and effort into doing it and in the end actually got nothing.

If you are going to stand by your mods and say it adds power, we need to see dynos. So far I havent seen any post of a dyno of a 3vz that has been modded. Unless you are clever and put in a turbo but still have yet to see the dyno for that as well which leads me to believe that it must not be worth it.

Does anybody have a dyno chart from a 3.4???

I don't see a point in modding the 3.0 very much unless you add forced induction. It just doesn't seem like a decent platform to try to squeeze power out of. Most modern day V6 engines around that size are putting out way more power in stock form. A "simple" 3.4 swap will probably get you more power than you'll ever get out of the 3.0 without the addition of a turbo/supercharger.

I was thinking more along the lines of a stock-ish 3.4 comparing it to a stock-ish 3.0. Not really fair to compare a S/C 3.4 to a N/A 3.0

turbo naaaaaa if anything run a super charger

work at perforamce shop for some time from the gain's i got in the truck is pretty big

the afm is one of the biggest peacs of the puzzle the afm is the main hart beat of gaining power in the 3 slug

the afm is far to small

more air coming in and more fuel added makes power

thats easy stock 3.0 is rated at 150 and the 3.4 is rated at 190. I posted those to show that people have dynos of the modded 3.4 but noone has posted a modded 3.0
