Where is the Oil Pressure Gauge Wire?

1989 4runner SR5 with 3vze. Bought without an engine.

New engine in and can't find the oil pressure wire anywhere. Stumped. Looked for a broken wire in the harness, nothing.

Please help. Spent too much time looking for it and trying to solve. Might run a new wire directly to the instrument cluster..

On my ‘88, I have a single green/black wire poking out of the main wiring harness cover up by the distributor area, just below the oil fill cap.

are you certain this is the Oil Pressure wire? I have this wire too but it seems to connect to a capacitor that is not connected to the oil pressure switch

Yes, I’m certain. Mine was broken when I first got the truck and I traced it back to that wire. It’s been reconnected to the oil pressure gauge sender for over 10 years now.

Thank you for checking!

Is there a connector from the oil pressure sensor to this wire perhaps?

Here's what my wire of same color and location has for the other end that seems to connect with the capacitor....but maybe the capacitor connects elsewhere?

Thanks a ton. This is eating my lunch

The gauge wire once upon a time should have had a little slip on spade connector with a plastic housing over it to connect to the sender. Mine was MIA. Yours might be too.

I really can’t make heads or tails of your picture or what you’re referring to as a capacitor? The noise filter on the fender? Here’s how you can test the wiring for the gauge once you locate it.
