Tailgate motor recently blew on my 91. I've spent a good chunk of time trying to find a new one that will ship to Canada, but it is proving to be impossible. Most of the part websites that have it in stock only ship to the states (I live right beside the border, usually this is ok, but due to current events i cant cross).

These american sites usually charge around 60bucks USD. Any any site that ships to Canada has the motor listed for 300 CAD.

I am unable to find any on Rockauto either, so maybe im just looking in the wrong place? All of the motors listed on RA are listed to only fit the front/rear right/left, and nothing is listed for the tailgate.

 

Is the part number you're looking for 85710-89105?

My first gen 4Runner had a weak motor at the right door. I tried getting a reman unit that claimed it was a oem core that was rebuilt, but I had my doubts on that. And to call it "reman" was an abuse of the term. So i returned.
I ended up getting a right rear window motor out of a 91 Camry on eBay for $30 and it fit perfectly.
I think the driver's window and the tailgate on yours are the same. So maybe a left door motor from a Camry would work on yours(if so, get the left rear door motor. Used less).
Let's see what others here say, they very well might correct me.
