wheel well cover question
about 2 months ago my wheel well cover mostly came off and it was flapping in the breeze, so to speak. I ripped them off all the way (both sides) and this is what I have now-
(see pic)
although there is no problem, it would be nice to have the inner workings covered up from mud etc.
is there a way to buy these covers (black) aftermarket, what are they called/part number,
thanks!
(I hope I am describing this right...it is a black, heavy duty flexible screen that pops into the body, and creates a barrier between the tires and the headers, for example)

Go to 1sttoyotaparts.com its under Collision catalog,,Fender-Inner Components
From this it looks like it is called a splash shield. They have a one piece and also a 2 piece one.

it looks like many aftermarket places call the toyota stone deflector a splash shield. so get confirmation before getting it. Do you still have the original one? You could always just make new holes in it and get new clips.

click on view illustration... it will have the name at top with the corresponding number in the pic.. on that site i believe it is the splash shield as the stone deflector is the plastic inner fender piece

Splash shield
godz- thanks for helping with this
it looks to me like you are right and it is the splash shield that I need.
I need both left and right sides.
Do you agree that that means, buying both the 1piece and the 2piece?
(from the picture, it looks like the 1 piece is for passenger side and 2 piece for driver's side...
can you tell from this picture?
should be numbers 3, 4, and 5

i would assume that you would need those pieces 3,4,5. Best to maybe contact them to double check. I was under my buddies 92 tonight and i remember the passenger side was 1 piece but didnt check the driver side..maybe someone with a 2nd gen can chime in and check.

I bought some GAP Guards fro LIFT LIPS after I did my body lift. They are pre cut to fit and have all the holes punched in them and have the plactis pins to attache them to the fender.

liftlips
Buck thanks for the tip on liftlips! they look incredible!
I think they are better than OEM.
I have sent them an email but it looks like they have the exact fit for a second gen 4runner.
T90914R
is the model number.
I love yotatech everytime I have a question I get surprised by something better than I expected!

Has anyone ordered the CLIPS for the fender well Splash Shield? Do they come in a bag, or are they really $1.05 each ?? Anyone know of an aftermarket that'll work? I need a bunch and can't see spending 15 bux for a fi˟˟˟˟ll of plastic buttons.
Hey, I'm cheap ( like everyone else on the forum ??)
Thanks, S.
