Wheel or tire problem?

I am running 31x10.50x15 on my stock aluminum wheels (check sig). Having trouble keeping them balanced and the wheel shakes over 50mph. The TIRE MAN says you need to run a 8in wheel with that tire and that that was the problem. He also said those older type aluminum wheels were hard to balance. The tires are new with only about 8k miles on them. Anyone else have this problem on 8in wheels?

i have the factory alloys with 31's and they balanced up quite nicely, thank you very much. it is possible that your tires might be out of round and therefore leading to the balancing issues you are experiencing.

if possible, take your rig to another shop for a 2nd opinion and get the results in writing in case you need to have tires replaced. good luck and keep us posted.

the only way they wouldn't work is if the rims themselves are bent or tweeked. but the stock rims should work fine so get that second opinion
