Whats a good clutch for a 2wd street truck?
Hey guys,
Anyone have any info on brands/prices on a clutch for a 1992 22RE. The motor is rebuilt with O/S Head and is ready for turbo, but will be N/A for now. The clutch that was in it when I pulled the motor is worn down to the rivets, so it's obviously time to replace it while I've got it apart in the first place. I don't know about clutches or what are good/bad brands, so hopefully I can get some insight. Right now, motor is rated @ 135hp, but I'm hoping to be around 200 when turbo is finished. I drift (or try that is), drive the thing hard, and dump the clutch alot, so I need something that can a little bit of abuse. Thanks in advance.

Lots of threads on this one - i'd say if just street using, a centerforce would do you good - maybe a marlin crawler one for the clamping power if you're clipping through gears expecting the rear to free up in a drift
but search for sure, you'll see lots of opinon threads

I've spent some time on Google and everything that comes up when I type in 22RE clutch is just threads and a bunch of BS, nothing really worthy. But thanks, I'll search on here, and more opinion are appreciated! Thanks

ahh i c i missed the part about the 22re - still though, the idea you're going for is clamping power (i suppose durability just as well), but for clamping power, and less rotational speed, the Exedy's and Cenerforces are your best bet
