What Year 3VZE Motors are the same??
I have a 94 with the 3vze motor. I have a parts donor truck that supposedly has a 92 3vze motor. The only visual difference I can see is the thermastat housing coming of the front of the motor has an extra cooling line that runs to the back of the motor under the intake manifold. Any Idea what 3vze motors fits what years? The Donor is a Auto and mine is a manual. I do not think that makes a difference. I did compare the donor truck to a 94 3vze with auto and it did not have that extra hose either. Any help is appreciated.

The main difference is the ECU for auto/manual--you'll want one with same tranny. the extra cooling line was on the towing package option trucks and goes to an oil cooler on the side of the block under the exhaust manifold.

I have put an engine from a 90 auto into my 91 manual and I am doing the same thing for my 95 as well. There were no problems, you do not need an engine from a manual as the extra sensors at the back of the intake will not get connected to your manual ecu. Just make sure to lable the vacuum lines as they can be a PITA to get back in the right spot. Good luck, I am doing the motor swap now as well so ask away if you have any questions.
