I have a slow leak at the main seal would thicker weight help me? What weight would you use with this problem. It's not that bad and I put some lucus in there and it's even slower... like maybe a qt every oil change cycle leaks out... It's not bad at all, but I'd like what ever advantage I can get. The engine is a rebuilt 3.0 with about 25k...

Also does lighter weight really help with gas milage? I live in Alabama and it's never below zero for any real length of time... but I might be moving soon.

I usually use castrol10w40 High Mile and either fram/bosch/k&n filter. Its never done me wrong and its what the Dealership recommended using with the high miles.

20W 50 is highly recommended for enviroments that reach high temperatures...for example all the locals who own Toyotas that i have talked to run 20W 50 due to the extreme temp. down here in Belize Central america. Now if you live in the deep southern states or in hot temps in Canada such as the Okanagan area in BC or southern Alberta it is highly recommended that you use thicker oil. Personal Prefernce though and NO it does not really do damage to your truck except maybe f you run it in really cool temps (i.e. below 0 celcius 32 Farenhiet
