What is timming on 22r EFI ?

I just installed Dual timming chain Sat -Sun on my 85 22r EFI

I'm at 8* Cold

Got it running and started Driving home, and 4 blocks later it Died when slowing down for traffic at 20 mph.

waited 10 minutes and it started again, Drove on Freeway 65mph, runs great, Smooth, 15 minutes on highway.

Then near home and it died when slowing down t o stop at light.

Towed it home, Engine starts, runs smooth at 1000RPM idle, then warms up and dies.

I'm at 8* with Te jumpered. Cold

The Haynes manuel does not say, it says put on 0 @ TDC

Roger 4crawler.com says 5*

Some people say 13* cold

Some people say 8*

read somewhere put at 16*

Engine sometimes runs well and can drive , when slow down it dies.

Engine sometimes starts , idle then dies

Came home from work Monday , engine Starts then dies in 2 seconds
try again push gas and it just dies

The Timming Has to be OFF ????!!!!???

LC engineering says I have Fuel Pressure problem

I have Fuel flowing and NEw Fuel Filter !

How do you test Fuel Regulator ?
???

with the jumper in place, and engine warm, you want to set your timing to 5*BTDC as a starting point. with the jumper removed, it should read about 12*BTDC.

thanks But if you just put engine back together the Engine is cold .

Does not make sense to run engine on bad timing until engine has warmed up

You get a False reading if you remove the Jumper

Just starts and Dies, Just starts and Dies, Just starts and Dies, Just starts and Dies, Just starts and Dies, Just starts and Dies,

NEw Vacuum lines, I drove on them for a Week before timing Chain install
New Plug Wires, drove on them for a few days before new chain 9tear down)

I installed new timing Chain
- Engine would not start, sprayed carb spray into Intake, Engine stayed running (while spraying).

2- Disconnected Starter motor, turned Ign Key on/off, to Pressure up the Fuel line

3- reconnect Starter, Engine starts and Runs,

4- Set Timing, 8*, Engine run great

5- Drove 4 blocks , stop for 3 stop Signs and Signal light

6- Slow down for signal light Engine Died

8- Waited 8+ MINUTES, Engine Starts up

9- Drive on Hwy 65MPH for 15+ minutes, very smooth and quite

10- Slow down for signal lights

11- Slow down to 4th Stop light, Engine DIES

12- Wait 10 minutes , engine starts up again, Drive 25 mph 1 Block to home
Engine Dies

13- Reset timing with Jumper to 8* Cold

14- Next day, Engine no start

15- No Engine Codes

16- Swap out ECU's

Checked Fuel pump
Checked Fuel Filter
Checked Intake air leak
Checked Spark

All Engine Grounds in place

17- By pass the VSV Valve
EGR Is Blocked off, This way for 1 year, 1k miles

My jacobs setup would do that, I always carried the stock wire to bypass the jacobs. I went thru 4 jacobs units and gave up (all were warrenty)....

Might be too much timing...but should still run...

recheck all you connections, might be something simple...
