I recently picked up a 95 4runner and am cleaning it up and getting things fixed. I opened up the tailgate and found these clipped wires. Anyone have any idea what they're supposed to go to? I'm guessing the defroster, but I'm not sure. Tailgate window functions properly. The defroster button on the dash lights up, but the window never gets warm to the touch. Any help would be appreciated!

Clipped wires in tailgate. What are they for?

 

I venture the defroster with the Defroster switch closed check for voltage on the black wire.

If the glass was changed who ever did the job did not want to be bothered hooking up the defroster.

Thanks! That was my assumption. Does anyone have an pics/instructions for hooking up the defroster wiring to the tailgate glass?

 

There should be a plug on the lower left corner of the glass if I recall correct been a few years since I changed the motor.

If it was left on the glass.

Your missing the vehicle side plug you also need to be careful nothing gets hung up as the window goes up and down.
