What? Loose shifter

My shifter is a little bit loose, and will sometimes turn to the right or left. I can't even get into 5th gear due to it. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & reverse are fine, 5th is a PITA.

Any ideas?

'92 p/u 22re, if that helps, lol.

If it ain't your shifter seat needing replaced I'll be suprised. It fixed mine from doin' that.

Buy the best one on the market here:http://www.marlincrawler.com/htm/tra...rans_parts.htm get the socket too, it's worth the price.

Yep, I agree with mudhippy

Shift lever pilot bushing # 33548-31010 (green)=$7 CDN
Shift lever seat # 33505-35020 or 33505-35030 (white)=$16 CDN

Note: the 2 above #?s fit all trannies:G,R,W series (22R,R-E,3VZE)84-95.5,no need for entire shift lever retainer (85-95.5 pre-Tacoma)

Sounds like a plan, and from reading the links sounds like the problem. I'll get on that sometime this week.

Where would I be without YT?

Thanks guys.

pop the shifter out, and see how the bushing looks. its probably gone. Once you figure out whats up you can order the parts. The first time pulling mine was a pain, but once you figure out how to do it its easy to repeat
