when you have an exhaust leak that big, you chance frying a valve, since they rely on a certain temperature. if they cool off too suddenly (as with an exhaust leak) they can fry. id get that leak fixed. i know i have the idea right, but parts im not so sure i have right.. i cant remember if its a valve you could fry or a piston. someone help me out here.

dunno about thr 22r, but you burn valves on the 3vze, with exhaust leaks. Hell, I blocked my egr, and didnt seal the exhaust tube very well, when it leaked, it sounded like a valve was gonna come thru...lol
