What the heck is this thing???

Ok, here is the deal with this ... whatever it is. I have a 1987 Xtra Cab SR5 that originally had a 22RE EFI. My college buddy bought this truck without an engine and he put a 22R in it back around 1998. I always wanted this truck and finally talked him into selling it to me. Long story short, I cannot for the life of me figure out what this thing is. If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it. Pretty sure you guys are way more knowledgeable about this than I am.

This is definitely not an original Toyota part.

Someone installed this unit sometime in this Truck's life.

Yes, that was my first thought after seeing that metal cable coming out of one end.

I had something similar to this on a 60 series I used to own, it was a cruise control unit someone had installed.

Thanks guys! I will make sure to uninstall it this weekend and toss it out. No way I would have figured it out on my own.

Did it work? You should have had a unit in the cab somewhere too? Make sure you plug up any vacuum stuff going to it
