What function does the #1 speed sensor perform?
87 4x4 truck,22re, automatic trans. I have a code for #1 speed sensor faulty in the combination meter, and I cant find any info on what it sends a signal for?
I can hear something spinning in the cluster when I'm driving, and was curious of how detailed it is removing it, and what function it performs.

Searched, and found nothing I was looking for. Found out it was a part of the speedo head, and toyota lists as discontinued.Simple question " does it have anything to do with shifting?"
Does anyone sell this sensor, and how much of a pain is it to replace?

Copy and paste this address. Page 7 explains how the speed sensors work. I have never had the speedometer apart so I do not know how difficult it is to fix.

Thankyou! That piece of info was informative. Does anyone sell this sensor? Or even the whole speedo assembly. I have a local toy scarpyard , but they are proud of discontinued parts.
