I love dark green. Of course I might be a little biased...

 

I'm wanting to paint our 2nd gen yellow with black rock sliders themed kind of like a Tonka truck!

Good choice. You should definitely go with yellow. Red is only for people that want to look like everyone else. I would even go with some orange or black trim or bands or stripes or something. Maybe like a lot of the stock paint jobs have the stripes/bands (is there a specific word for that?) along the sides/hoods.
