if you go to the lotus website and "build your own lotus" it gives you a much better representation.

As for the bad news....
Its okay. They may have rustholes, but atleast our accelerators dont accelerate for us and send us kareening into a ditch.

I'm way ahead of you! It's already been bondo'd and hit with a coat of rustoleum.

Thanks for the suggestion! Why do you suggest boat paint, for its water-repeling abilities? Also can you use boat paint in a paint sprayer or do you have to strictly roll it on?

BOAT! thats the best idea ever, paint it like a yacht! paint it that blue glow white from the top to a lower body line and paint the rockers, lower doors etc in a navy blue like the flag blue from the chart! Then you can slap an outboard on it and take it across the english channel in style like the top gear guys did! I know it's a nissan, but its hilarious.

It'll look as sweet as this, I swear!

search $50 paint job... there are several threads about using the Interlux brightside paint.. i painted my 81 with it and it turned out great. i sprayed it on, but you can roll it on if you dont have the gun and compressor.

I have the gun and compressor, so i was gonna do it that way in hopes that it will come out better that way.

Did you cut the rust out first before you bondo'd? If not it will eventually come through. I know because the PO tried to do the same thing on my truck, and his repairs were falling apart by the time I got it. Not a big deal right now, but know that the repair won't last forever.

About the color, I agree with Tofer on Sundown Bluff, and Brightside paint can be sprayed. Says so on the cans I'm using for my project. You won't get as much coverage as you would with a roller, though.

I made sure to grind down all the rust to the solid metal first. And now about rolling paint on, what do you do, just grab any old paint roller and go to town? Or is it a special kind of roller?

dude im with yotaman with that beige color. with black bumpers + black rock sliders. i think that would be sick however i would agree that 1st gen 4runners are def the best looking in red. my favorite by far. no exceptions. love that beige though... like a safari or something.
