What broke?(Lots of Pics)

I was recently wheelin and heard a loud THUD. The vehicle still drove though and the 4Wheel drive works but under turns it will bind up really bad and slip. When driving down the road in 4WD it will 'Knock Knock Knock' The guys that I was with said it was probably my front diff, or a cv axle but they didnt hear the knocking, that makes me think its a driveshaft? I crawled underneath it and everythings dry except for my passenger cv boot but I think its water. The driveshaft spins fine, I found one spot if I turn it back and fourth rapidly it will kind of bang but I think a little is normal isnt it? I included some pics and I tried to describe it the best I could, any input would be greatly appreciated so I dont rip into unnecassary parts.

Thanks in advance

Looks like you have broken your CV in the bottom two pictures. That oil and twisted boot arent normal.

To be sure that it's the CV, read up on this link.

Yeah you need a new cv joint.... that is not water, thats grease, and its okay in 2wd but I wouldnt drive it in 4wd till you get that fixed...its actually pretty bad there, so I would get it done pretty fast...!!!

If you don't have manual hubs, the first time you hit the highway you will definately be able to tell it is grease.

Deffinatly cv joint. Your shaft is not lining up at all, its pointing the wrong direction!
