What all to replace on 3.0 top end ?
1995 3.0 with 230k miles, truck ran great then would not pump water so, I bought a whole Timing belt/water pump/pulley ect. kit only to find the top of block was laying full of antifreeze. (water pump sucking air?) Removed intake to find someone had removed to o-ring on the steel line that feeds the back of the water pump and put it together with blue RTV ? Sticker on rad. shroud says timing belt and who knows what else was replaced at 180k so, 50 thousand miles. Previous (1.5yr.) owner knew nothing about what previous maintenance was done. Now, question is should I replace/clean knock sensor and as crazy as it sounds even tough truck ran great maybe the head gaskets since, I'm practically there ? Thanks for any help !
