its not the dashpot. the dashpot has a rubber thing around it with a little rod that the throttle linkage pushes down. dashpot is located to the side of the throttle linkage. this thing is directly under the throttle body and is connected to the fuel rail. my buddy has a later model 1989-1990? and his does not have this on part on it.

FUEL PULSE DAMPENER

It has a diaphragm inside that is worn or torn. It is leaking from the very center of the mushroom cap. There is a notch there and that is where your fuel leak is.

It regulates, to a certain extent, the fuel flow into the fuel rail but it mainly it softens the erratic brisance created by the fuel injectors suck/stop/suck/stopping fuel cycle when they fire off.

Thank you sir.

wait...

Thank you sirs.

I do what I can, while I can since this is the very first forum I have ever been a member of.

I know, wake up and smell the new fangled internet right?

Well, as a diversion, I like it. I like it so much I think that I will join twenty more forums so I will be fading in and out.

Originally, I only joined because the "rules" stated that hotmail accounts were banned from registering as new members. I gave it a go with a hotmail account and before I knew it, I had registered as a new member using a hotmail account. Well one thing led to another and it just started sucking me in.

oh and the best thing of all, on the internet...
no one knows you are a dog.

Uh, meow?
