weird vibration help

ok so my 94 extra cab has this weird vibration, the U joints are fine but the carrier bearing is sloppy. BUT here is how it is happening, take off from a stop say im doing 25mph and holding the gas in one spot it does it a little but when i let off it gets loud and its a grinding like sound... and gets worse if i just get on the gas a little. (hard to explain sorry) but im thinking its the tranny or transfer, because if i push the clutch in its instantly gone. Another thing, it only does it now and then if i come up to a stop light kick it in "N" light turns green i push the clutch in and it wont go in gear... with all that being said it makes me think its the tranny or transfer. i need to fix this asap its almost hunting season here and i need to be able to trust my truck for long drives. any ideas????

Your carrier bearing is probably shot, if its loose the bearing is going bad.
For your shifting problem check the shifter seats, they wear out and cause hard shifting. You can get new ones from Marlin Crawler.

but why does the sound go away when i push the clutch in? that would make me think its more than the carrier bearing.

not sure about the noise, but as for shifting, check out the clutch ajustment bar behind the pedal. that happened to me a few weeks ago. thought it was tranny. turned out to be a loose nut on my ajustment rod!

well when i got the truck the clutch was at the floor (hardly move your foot up to let off the clutch and it took off) so i adjusted that (maybe to much). im more worried about the sound, I have a week to figure this out before I take off to go hunting and that will be alot of miles. need to get some help/ideas from any one PLEASE
