Unhappy weird idling problem

Please help me, I have a 94 toyota 22re. Its been acting weird for a while. First my idle is high, when i start it in the morning it idles where it should, but as soon as it starts to warm up it goes up to about 1000-1200 range. Second, sometimes it will idle at about 1500-2000, but as soon as i hit the break it drops and fluctuates between 800-1200. before i would be able to adjust the idle, but i have no adjustment left. Anyone that can help me find the problem? Im in desperate need, cause it wont pass smog as is, and my registration is due. Thank you all.

check your idle air control valve right under neath the front of the intake, i had the exact same problem and found out that was not working and had a bunch of gunk in it, cleaned it and the truck runs good now.

Idle speed and timing are always set with the engine at normal / fully warm temp- 750 rpm / 5 BTDC for a 22re.
Saying it idles fine when cold, then goes bad when warm suggests the idle isn't set properly.

When cold, it can idle as high as 1500 rpm's, possibly higher, but as long as it settles to 750 when warm, that isn't an issue.
