Question Weird Brake problem

Two things, not sure if they're related.

1. When I drive for the first time during a day my brakes squeal, but not while using them. In fact the squealing stops once I do use them.

2. Sometimes my brake pedal stiffens up, as if the booster was bad, to the point that the power brakes are gone. But if I give the pedal a good solid kick, everything returns to normal operation. This happens maybe once a day, I give it a good kick and it operates nice and smooth.

Don't know if they're related. Weirdin' me out.

Sounds like a caliper or calipers are seizing.

check fluid level, you could also take the calipers off, check the pads, and get some caliper grease and grease up all moving parts that should help

Any freeplay on the rod between the brake pedal lever, and the booster?

It's a pain to see up under the dash, but it's gotta have some slack.

Not sure what you mean by free play in that area, but I'll check. Thanks
