weight of 6ft bed (89-95)?

i've had mine off my truck a couple of times and i have a sense of how heavy the bed off my '92 is (and my old '85 even more times) but now i am looking for a concrete and precise measurement. anybody got a source for stock bed weights? thanks

Well, it's impossible to get a precise bed weight that applies to everybodies bed, due to inconsistencies in the build of the bed for each truck..
Just take the bed down to an industrial scale and have them weigh it..

Just by lifting mine off my 92' 2wd shortbed, I would guess 120lbs?

well, "precise" is a manner of speaking. what i am looking for is concrete data and not a guesstimate (no offense Beeman). i've seen estimates on here and on pirate ranging from 120-300 lbs., i can't work with that range.

apparently there was a link on the FAQ on pirate to all things toyota weights but it is not working.

You won't be able to get a precise weight off the internet.
Due to different amounts of rust, corrosion, dirt, and other things.
They'll be similar in weight.
Take yours off, and have it weighed..
Why is it so important, anyways?

i know what you are saying but i was hoping to (at least) narrow the range down somewhat.

it's important because i'm planning a trailer build and i'm trying to decide between a military trailer or a DIY trailer using a bed that matches what i've got on my truck now.

somebody's got to have a figure on this, no?

around 250 on my 85. Pulled it off and put it back on 5 weeks ago, set it on the ground with 2 ratchet straps crossed in the bed and a hoist hooked in the middle of them. Setting on the ground I can stand it up by myself, and I weigh 140. Now has anyone made a trailer out of a toyota bed and have build pics?

i've seen a few with toyota beds but i can't seem to find any pics at the moment. here's one made from a datsun bed, same idea i'd be going for. i think this sort of trailer would be fairly capable off road and very practical for the uses i intend on (hauling wood, tools, etc.).

was this the weight for your 85 bed? that sounds about right, it's gotta be somewhere in between 250-300. i was hoping the 89-92 bed was a little lighter but maybe not.
