Weber Carb guys!!

What size idle jets are you guys running?

Mine has a 60 in it and supposedly is jetted for my 22r from redline. It is running lean right now. Redline says it must be a vacume leak but never found one. So i went to my friends 83 pickup with a weber and he had his mix screw out like 4 turns unaware this indicated a lean condition. he has a 60 idle jet also and he has no leaks. (he doesn't even have the multi adapter plate, aftermarket intake.)

Next would be a 65 i guess? do i just replace one or is there two idle jets? Thanks

how did I miss this thread. I am using the same jet that came factory in my 32/36. no problems here. I have to double check where I have my idle screw and mixture screw set for. I have a 268 cam, downey header and a 2.25" exhaust with no cat.

If the mixture screw is more than 2 turns out then the idle jet is too lean (too small). When the mixture screw is less than 11/2 then the Idle jet is too rich (too large).

These assumptions are based on the fact that the speed screw setting is not opened more than 1 1/2 turns.

Make sure when you set the idle mixture screw your idle screw is no more than 1 - 1 1/2 turns out. This is very important.

I went over it today and did find a vacume leak in the adapter plate. Fixed it and it seems to run better. Doesnt cut out as bad! Mix screw is at 2.25 turns and idle is at 1.5. I think ill run it like this for a few and see how it goes.

I would still like to see what idle jet you have.

This is a lil late probably, but I've just recently been messing with the jetting on mine. I went with a 65 idle jet and it is now about 1 1/2 turns out. Also, the adapters that come with the Weber kits aren't very good, I had no problems with the LCE adapter though. It's machined instead of cast.
