Water temp sensors.... 22re

So what is the temp sensor in the thermostat housing go to? the if the ecu water temp is the two wire and cold start is two wire next to it and the gauge sensor is in the center of manifold then what is the one on thermostat housing do?

It has something to do with the a/c, at least that`s what ive always been told.

Sounds right or was it for hot starting don't remember. Was also only the 4x4.
