Didnt find anything on this, maybe i havent looked hard enough.
I have a couple old water pumps for a 3vze, nothing wrong other than the barb fitting that goes to hose for oil cooler fell out. Not broke, fell. Its like they are glued from factory based on the resin look on it.
My question is how do i reattach it? I plan on trying to just sweat it back in like you would copper pipe. If that not how i should do it, what would you guys do?
The piece i refer to, next to a pump thats intact. The glue lookin residue thats on it.
First, it's too much labor for me to replace a waterpump to use an old one. But that's neither here nor there.
I'd tap the hole with a 1/8 NPT tap and install a 90 degree elbow with a barb. If your solder job failed it could be catastrophic.

i was also thinking about doing something like this. I just kept circling back to "why the hell did it look to be glued in from the factory?". Reguardless i normally would swap it out with new. But keeping old parts to get me through a week while i wait has helped me a number of times now.
