thanks for the info fellers....I will pull that intake tomorrow and remove the pipe and have a look at it...if I can repair it should I do that of just pay Toyota what they want for a new one?..
also the radiator went out on our 98 camry last night that the girls drive and my wifes 06 PT Cruiser has a vibration shaking it only has 76,000 miles and I tuned it up a few monthe ago and put a front motor mount on it last Sunday so maybe other mounts are bad ...anyways all this auto troubles just well you know.....I know it could be worse

fixed it once again...the red circles show where I had a rupture in the hard line....what a pita to work on this 3zve.....I had to cut out the flanges on both sides that rest against the head just to get the pipe out so I could work on the darn thing.I repaired it with some 1/4" brake line, bending tool, 5/16" high pressure fuel line, metal clamps and some UL181 tape(Metal heat tape over a small portion of short rubber hose)....no leaks as of 50 miles of driving and I hope it holds until i have to do a head gasket job, then I will purchase a new #1 water bypass tube from Toyota $90.00 dealer item only, and then install it when the heads are removed.I feel like I did a good repair and put a lot of thought into before I attempted it and think at least for now I'll be ok
I think the only true way to remove that pipe assembly properly is remove the heads, there is no other way to get it out because the side flanges are under the edge of the heads on each side
knock sensor wire looked good so I left it alone
the red arrows point to the flanges that are under the heads, I had to cut down each side with a sawzall just to get the darn thing out

#1 water pipe
My daughters 4Runner kept overheating. I thought is was a head gasket. Found this after getting the manifold off. $65 at 1st parts toyota what adds up are the special bent hoses back there $50 dollars for 6 inches of u shaped hose. Ouch!
