water causing engine lug

i have a 88 pickup, 4WD 22 RE EFI, whenever i drive through a stream and water splashes up into the undercarriage and engine, or if i spray out the bottom of the truck, and then i drive and the engine shakes and lugs real bad, it feels like it wants to die, then maybe half an hour later it works fine. where is the water going to cause this? any ideas?

More than likely your plug wires/coil wire is causing your issues. Idle the engine and spray the wires down with a spray bottle, see if it acts up.

yep, mine does that too, probably water getting into the spark plugs or distributer, but it eventually goes away and runs fine.
