I was wondering if a vapor canister off 95 4Runner would work on a 88 4Runner?? I got one from the junk yard today and I was awear the part numbers are different but I grab it anyway. My 4Runner has 327,000 plus miles on it and I have noticed a strong odor of gas and my mechanic thought the VAPOR CANISTER could be shot!! Any ideas??

 

I think (a very big think) that 3vze and 22re vapor/charcoal/etc. canisters are different. Whats your engine and what was the donor from? Just hook it up and see if it fits. if not....

My truck has a 22re and my guess the 4Runner I took it off was a V6, hard to tell was not much left of the truck. I figure I would try and see!?! It only cost me 7.00$!

aye. If it was only $7, see if it fits. If not, sell it on craigslist for $10 and make $3

 

That was my thought. If not I will put it on Ebay. I have alot to do on the truck in next week I will just add this to the long list I already have!
