valvetrain ticking?

valvetrain ticking?

hey my valve train is ticking i know its caz old motor worn out question is best way to solve this?? adjust the valves or go with new internals? or leave it??

I got a ticker too. I made sure the valves were set correctly which they weren't and it lessened some. ENGN BLDR told me awhile back that after a compression test if things aren't broke, don't fix it. Run a comp and if numbers are good, I'd be ok with it.

awesome thanks ill run comp check tonight after work im sure there good just on interstate with no music on kind of annoying after a while haha

go get (or pull out of the garage) an automotive stethoscope. Make sure its actually coming from inside your valvetrain. I had a noise I thought was loose valves, but it was actually just noisy fuel injectors. Compression tests are great, and I totally recommend doing one, but pinpointing the noise should be your step #1.
