Valve cover gasket question 3VZE
Should a light coat of oil be put on bottom of gasket before installation? I read this on an old thread somewhere. Thanks for any replies.

I would degrease the sealing surfaces, both head and new rubber, with acetone and install the covers clean and dry.
Don't forget the small dabs of sealant at the front and rear corners.

thanks ---- I've used brake cleaner on motor surface, should i wipe down gasket with same or does it matter?
