Valve cover gasket question 3VZE

Should a light coat of oil be put on bottom of gasket before installation? I read this on an old thread somewhere. Thanks for any replies.

I would degrease the sealing surfaces, both head and new rubber, with acetone and install the covers clean and dry.

Don't forget the small dabs of sealant at the front and rear corners.

Yes, degrease the gasket face with the brake cleaner too.
