Where to get 22RE Oil Pump Dowels?
I was taking the oil pump off the timing cover yesterday, and didn't realize there was a locating dowel around two of the bolts. I cut through it with the spatula I was using to separate the parts.
Does anyone have a good place to get a replacement? In all the threads I've found on it by searching someone comes up with a used part to give to the original poster, so I haven't seen any good online sources posted. Of course, if anyone has one laying around they'd be willing to sell me, that would be great. I just need one.

"Cut" with a spatula?
I'd be concerned you did more damage to the Timing Chain cover than just the dowels
I'd try HERE first, tho you might have to get a new TC cover.
I *think* I have an old cover, but I'm not sure I can get them out (cover was cut partially by the chain due to a busted plastic OEM guide; I converted to a dual chain, which uses a different cover, so I did not re use my old cover)

I thought RTV had been used to seal it up, so I put the spatula on a corner and tapped it in between the oil pump and the timing cover the separate the faces. It turns out I had just missed the very top bolt because it was hidden under mud and that's why it wasn't budging. Unfortunately the corner I started on with the spatula is the one with the dowel.
I'll shoot the 22RE performance folks an e-mail. I already e-mailed LCE earlier this morning.
Let me know if you come across your old cover! The dowels are slotted so I bet you could pop one out with some gentle tapping on the sides.

I have changed quite a few 22R series engine oil pumps none of mine ever had those in.
I have a brand New Factory timing cover that does not have them.
Is this engine from out of the US market ??
That means those holes are larger then the others and the oil pump would need to be sized according correct ??

That's strange, it's a US 22RE (bought in Texas). Every timing cover photo I find online has the dowels in those two spots. And yeah, the bolt sizes are the same as the rest of the holes, so I'm assuming those two holes are oversized enough to accept the wall thickness of the dowels.

I just got a response from Jerry at 22RE Performance, posting here for anyone else finding this through search:
those aren't available on their own (as you have found out). I measured one and it turns out to be the same as the fuel rail to intake manifold dowel.
they are about $2.00 each, but shipping is about $7.00
try your local dealer the part number is 90253-11001

I bought the timing chain kit which includes the timing cover from Jerry at 22RE Performance and it had those dowels installed in the cover. It was an OSK OEM Made in Japan kit.
