VAFM swap - Done!
Got all of the parts from a '90 Camry, I believe, including the VAFM and the air box. Funny story when I brought it home, I had a talk about it with my ma who doesn't know anything about cars except that they move forward. The dialogue is as follows:
"Why are you changing them out if that's not the right one for your truck?"
"Because these ones are bigger and allow more air to flow which makes it run more efficiently. I got this out of an old Camry"
"Isn't yours bigger though, it's a truck"
"No, Toyota thought it was a great idea to put a smaller one on their trucks"
"...That's stupid, your truck's bigger than a little Camry obviously it needs more air."
"Exactly"
I had a good chuckle after that. Anyways, I didn't take any pictures of the process because I followed edwinb4x4's (https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...-think-183463/) write up pretty much exactly but here's how it turned out.
I'm debating whether or not to paint it black but this is pretty much it. I've noticed an increase in power. It accelerates a lot faster. Also overall it seems to run more efficiently. I just filled it up tonite and will see about the MPGs. I know it won't be a miracle gas cure but so long as it doesn't make it worse then it's fine. I would recommend this mod to anyone. I've spent roughly a hundred between all of the parts and so forth.
