Vacuum Switching Valve??

Where can I purchase a VSV part #90910-12054?? Or, are there other vsv's that can be substituted? If so, what are those numbers?

Thanks!!

Since you can't find the part by that number, is it possible that you have the number wrong? (if you try entering that number at http://www.toyotapartsoverstock.com/...rimLevel=18292 , it is "not found") And if you have the number wrong, how on earth is any one going to guess what part it really is? (given that you haven't told us what it does, or what vehicle it is for)

Oops, what was I thinking?? Engine 1989 22RE (that's the 4 cylinder, just to clear that up!).
If the part number is wrong someone needs to notify Aisin that the part number they stamp in the metal on the part is incorrect. So, I am still looking for some constructive assistance!
Thanks!

This isn't that hard. I gave you a link to a page with a picture of almost all the VSVs -- for a 3VZE. So you need to just back up, start at toyotapartsoverstock.com , enter your own make/model/year/configuration, and look through the pictures for the actual part you want.

It is VERY common for an auto manufacturer to decide that a certain part needs to be improved, with the improved part a plug-in replacement for the old one. If they just stamped the old part number onto the improved parts, you couldn't tell them apart. So Toyota (and Aisin) issued a NEW part number, which goes into the Parts Catalogs. (Within the last few years GM got into a whole boat load of trouble because, it was claimed, they figured out the problem with the ignition switches and quietly fixed it -- but kept the same part number!)

So what happened to the old part number? I'll bet that back in 1990 or 1991 or even later, the parts catalog had a cross-reference on the off chance someone asked for a component by part number rather than description. But that was 25 years ago; getting pissed that the old part number went away is really stretching it.

Last, I can't even help you. I have no idea if you are looking for a VSV for the A/C idle up, the Fuel Pressure-up, the EGR, or something else. Only you know that. You know where the part came from. You didn't just find it on the sidewalk.
