Vaccum and Ignition timing questions ?
Out of truck rebuild and I do not see where this vacuum port (with black cover) hooks up. I have a 1989 which only has 3 ports instead of the 4 on this a 1995. Also, when setting then ignition timing the manual says to hook up an SST to terminals TE1 & E1 of the DLC is this simply a jumper ? Thanks for any help Chuck S.

Hi Chuck. I have an 1989 4runner with the 3.0 V6. I had lots of problems with my vacuum hoses when i got the truck and i finally got to the bottom of how everything is hooked up. I Hope these diagrams and videos help you out in that part. As for the 4th port that you have plugged I have absolutely no idea where that one goes lol Mine doesn't have that one.

Yes, a jumper. If you pull the 15A EFI fuse for 30 seconds will turn the check engine light off.
Since the check engine light is on, there are code(s) stored in the ECU. To retrieve the codes
you need to find the diagnostic connector under the hood. Flip the cap open and there is a label
that corresponds to the terminals in the connector. You want to take a piece of wire or paper
clip and jump TE1 to E1. Turn on the ignition and the check engine light will flash the codes.
Write down the numbers and match it to the list of ECU codes.
I guess this is where we're going?
