I'm not sure when they started the take your vin in and they can cut you a key but I know I wanted an OEM key just to have and I had one cut this way at the Toy dealership a family member of mine works at about a year ago or so.

i have a coustom key thanks to the PO he broke two key's off in it one in the ignition and one in the tail gate luckaly they broke at the same point so i have to have 2 keys

yeah, the passenger door thing is a good idea... unless you have aftermarket locks. in my case, SOLEX 'high tech' locks. hey, everyone takes one look at my locks and decides to have me unlock it for them.. even if they have the key. lol
