Have new ball joints. The problem is the ball joint was stuck and someone said to cut the joint off and drill out the tread. Did not work! Bad Advice!! Now the treaded stud is stuck in the knuckle and will not come out with any puller or ball hammer trick. Any advice?

If gear puller tools won't work and hammers won't work, then I would get a bigger drill bit and drill the entire stud out of the knuckle.

holy crap, that's like a half inch stud have fun with that drilling...

yeah why wouldn't you just use the proper tool to begin with? just wondering

but at any rate, the hole in the knuckle is tapered, so even drilling out the threads is not going to get all of it out, just fyi

Thanks for the advice. So far PB Blaster and 15 lb. hammer has got it to move a little bit. But it still is not out all the way.

Leave the nut on the balljoint, if possible, they can travel far and fast when they leave.
