Uh Oh...CEL Attack!
Ok, last weekend my brothers and I delved into replacing the original 3.0L with a rod knock with another 92 SR5 3.0L. First off, What a difference a good running motor and a new clutch makes. She pulls great going up hill. I was impressed the moment I got in her after the swap. Only problem is, on my way home from school today, the CEL came on... I did not change the O2 sensor, so it could be that. We had to splice some of the wires running up from what looked like teh transmission. (My brother is an electrical engineer, so I let him do all the splicing) I had to reuse my power steering pump, cause the one on the new engine was no good. My power steering pump is going out too, just not as fast.
We got everything connected, except for a little black (2 prong) connector in the front that disconnects from the main harness right next to the radiator. I don't know what this goes to. I can take a photo in the morning if that would help. Other than that, we reconnected everything, and it seems to be running great.
I know being a 92 it does not have the OBD-2 diagnostics system on it, so i can not have it plugged in, already thought of that.
Any other thoughts on what this might be (O2 sensor, Temp sensor(although the gauge seems to be working))
Thanks.
Oh yea, for the record, the swap took 3 days and 2 nights of heavy drinking
