is u-joint zerk clogged?

okay, if you've read my previous posts you already know that auto repair/maintenance is not my strong suit, so bear with me for the noob post. :pat:

That being said I bought a grease gun so I could do my own LOF.

Everything was straightforward until I got to the zerk on the u-joint furthest back. I got the gun nozzle to click on the zerk but when I pumped grease it wouldn't go in the joint. Just piled up outside of the joint.

My best guess is that it is clogged? already full?

Thanks for any suggestions on what to do.

just clean it up .. so you can see the ball on the zerk.. its a spring loaded type of deal ... so just get a small "something" and break it free ... then go for it

It's a good idea to take a cloth and clean the end of the fittings each time before you squirt new grease in. If you don't, you will likely push accumulated dirt into the bearing,, which is what you're trying NOT to do.

Sorry if you already were doing this, but it's a simple step that some don't know or easily forget.

I know you are SUPPOSED to do it, but I get lazy sometimes....

Also, make certain you are STRAIGHT ON the zerk; if it is cocked to one side you'll get the same result...
