Exclamation Two Quick questions

Alright, so two quick questions,
First I recently did away with the ADD system and put on AISIN Manual locking hubs, and hubs are free and front drive shaft spins free on the ground yet the passenger side CV axle spins as well, is this normal? And when i drive the front drive shaft still spins, i was told its from the momentum created in the tranny its self? and this is a A340H trans

Second, very newbie and dumb question but i had trouble with it this morning. Im trying to take off the grill and the clips just aren't working with me, and call me blind but i did not see the two screws that anchor the grill that the Haynes manual describes?

Thanks for any help, haha

1. No, that is not normal. However, if the drivers front CV is engaged because the hub is locked up, the front driveshaft will spin. In an A340H auto trans, there IS NO momentum. Sounds to me like you have a hub problem.

2. Depending on the year of your 4Runner, you may not have the screws. 1993 did not. The clips slide towards the larger opening in the clip slot. This allows the clip to slide through the grille. You should be coming in through the front of the grille.

Neither hubs are locked, if i lift each wheel individually i can spin them free without spinning the cv axle, then dropping it down on all fours i spin the drive shaft and only the passenger side cv turns, so is there a issue in the diff then? because both manual hubs engage and disengage fine so i don't see what would be going on there?

Even though the hub is "unlocked" position, the gear could be stuck keeping the wheel locked to the shaft.

The wheel is not locked to the shaft, if it was i would not be able to turn the shaft while the wheel was on the ground, or be able to turn the shaft the opposite way of the wheel while the wheel is in the air.
