My personal fav way of dealing with people like this when you *don't* want to use the .45 is my trusty 1,500,000 volt stun gun.

I have never used this beast on someone yet but i had a friend that had a 100,00 volt gun used on him and he lit up like a light bulb! He said it was the worst pain he had felt.

So you just nap them with that and just when they start coming around you zap them again until the cops get there. By then the perp is way to gone to say anything and you can just say, "i just zapped him once".

I guess no one has dogs anymore? that and a shotun packed with salt or beanbags works amazing, but i dont like the salt much, too much of a spray and once you hit your truck acidentally youll never pack salt again. a little beanbag in the shell works like a slug ;p

Well I set up a motion sensor and ran the bell portion to my bedroom. I'll know if someones in my driveway from now on.

I'll have to settle for my 18" pipe wrench for defense... although a zapper would be better.

luckily in my case i know a few cops and got the names of those poor kids who unfortunately broke into my truck....

Look on ebay, you can get a stun gun for under $10 if you want a cheap one. But i went ahead and got the best one i could find, was still only $25. IMO a good thing to have around, though i will never be without my glock the stung gun is nice to have for times when you think there might be a problem but you can just start shooting people.

Also nice since you can take them pretty much anywhere and no one will even think twice. Or for people that don't carry a gun, it is a great thing to have around.

I know that most of the weaponry advice is mostly in jest. I say mostly.

If you were to be sitting at the ready with a weapon in hand, I think that might cross the line from "self defence" to "pre-meditated". Just a thought.

 

any one ever hear of pepper spray?? it works great(dont ask me how i know), and then while they are laying there rubbing their eyes, you can give them a couple rib shots before hog tying them and waiting for the cops!! I have a dog(amstaff terrier, a.k.a. pitbull) , but unless someone actually tried to hit me or something, she would just lick them to death.

 

Would i sit and wait for someong and then shoot them? No, that would get me in trouble.

Would i sit and wait for someone with a gun and hope that they try something stupid and if they do then shoot them? Yes, then i don't get in trouble.

Do i want to shoot anyone? No way, that is only as a last option. I would scare the living daylights out of someone by putting a round at the feet though without a second thought.

Would I stun someone that was trying to get into my truck? HECK YEAH! I would stun them until the cops got there and i had to stop. No doubt about it and i would not feel bad at all. And there would be no proof as to what had happened. The stun gun leaves no marks or damage. And the perp would be so gone he would not have a clue if i stuned him for 10 seconds or 10 mins.
