Have code 71 so I..........

I went out today and applyed vaccum and suction to EGR and nothing happend! So Im going to buy a new one! Also I have the check engine light which is how I found out it was the EGR. Now I cant get the light to go off by pulling the EFI fuse! Can I just pull an battery cable off to clear the code?

There is a chance that the code shows up as soon as you turn the key on (particularly if the EGR sensor has failed). In that case, resetting the code by removing the fuse or battery isn't going to make it go away until the problem is fixed.
