TVV (BVSV) Removal

Okay, so I busted those two knobs off like many others, and I have seen the McGuyver way to repair it without buying a new one, but how the heck do you get it back on?

My dad said there is a socket made just for that, with a groove in it to miss those knobs. Anyone see that before?

Also, does anyone have the part number from this (haven't gotten mine out yet) to check on the price?

Mike

to fix it youll find this usefull

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...&highlight=tvv

I took mine out/installed it with an open end wrench

I dont see why you couldnt find a reg deepwell socket at the pawnshop or HF and make your own slot in it with a die grinder.....

I was going to try the wrench. Is that a 14?

That link is helpful, it's what I found last night that convinced me to do this myself.

Where did you get the tubing? I live in a small town and we don't have a hobby store. Hardware store?

Okay, got it off, repaired it, now to put it back on. The AutoZone removal guide says to apply a liquid sealant to the threads before putting it back in. Any suggestions for that? There was some sort of green colored substance (came off with break cleaner) so I want to put something back on. I am sure anything will do, but wasn't sure if there was a recommendation or not?

Worked like a charm. Did the TVV (BVSV) Mod as suggested here:

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...&highlight=tvv

I had to use 3/16 aluminum tubing because Ace was all out of both Brass and Aluminum 5/32 (how popular is this stuff?) A hobby shop 40 miles away had it, but I figured what was wrong with 1/32 of an inch? Not sure what the CA (Cure All?) so I used J-B Quik Weld. Set up in 4 minutes, hard as steel in a few hours. Vacuum pipe fits on it perfectly!

Here are some pics of the finished product:

Cool, my dad (who has a big Snap-On toolchest) has something he uses, so that will work. Thank God my dad was and brother is a mechanic, or I'd be hosed.
