Is this truck worth it?
1987 Toyota Pickup SR5, 22RE.
$2500 firm, new timing cover & chain, new brake rotors. Interior is emaculate!
Has nice CD player as well. Drives nice. No akward sounds. Felt real soild actually.
Front view. Front bumper is bent on the driver's side has some funky "custom" end caps.It also needs one signal. I'd replace this with a Front Range offroad bumper..
Driver's side, Typical rust spot but solid bed.
Same for the other side
Rear end
Let me know what you guys think.

Ooooooooo! Sweet! Do it. Or make a generous donation so I can buy it.
Seriously, if I had the dough, I'd jump on it. Check it out first, of course. How does the radiator look inside? Any pics of the motor?

Thanks. The truck was used as a hunting truck. It ran really strong.
I was just curious what you guys thought. I'll let everyone know if I get it.

I think it is a little high but considering the Timing chain has been replaced I though it might be more worth it. If the headgasket had already been replaced I would be real happy. The interior is the cleanest first gen I've ever seen. It looks new. It was a women's. I don't know if that helps the value though haha

No one said fear the miles, but as far are value goes you absolutely have to factor that in. Every vehicle manufactured in the world only has a set number of miles the engine will go before it gives up. My engines final mile may be 475,001 but yours may be 199,998. The higher the miles, the less the vehicle is worth.
Myself, I wouldn't pay $2500 for it because of the body rust I see in the picture. I will not buy any vehicle with body rust regardless of the price (within reason), but that's just me...I have this thing about rust.
I had a similar discussion with my dad the other day about people bumming rides. They give you $20 for gas & you end up using at least what they gave you if not more & they don't even take into consideration the other items that wear with every mile that is put on the vehicle. It's miles traveled that wear ALL parts of a vehicle & they only have so many miles to give.

dose she have a folder of Maintenance slips I would ask to see them first
my truck came with a folder of all the things the P/O and P/O to him had done to the truck going back to dealer 30k and 60k check ups and every oil change and tire purchase ect...
thats why I felt ok with paying 2500$ for my truck.

I don't know about that price. I agree with the body rust comment. I have seen some toyota's for sale in my area that same body style about $1000 less because of the body damage (i.e. rust). I would try talking her down before making a decision.
