Truck smells of ATF while idling

I just did a tranny pan swap on my '93 pickup with a 3vz and a A340H tranny, due to the original one leaking, and needless to say, I consequently performed a fluid flush as well, with new ATF. However, afterwords, every time i turn the heater on while idling, such as at a stop light or in park, the cab begins to smell of ATF. You can also smell it if you get out and walk to the front of the vehicle. I can't seem to smell it down by the transmission itself, but I do smell it from the engine compartment as well (seemingly more so from the passenger side) . The fluid doesnt smell burnt, just smells like regular fluid. I didn't spill too much fluid upon the flush, and even washed out the engine compartment with degreaser at the car wash today to hopefully clean up any remnants. Thing still has the same smell when idling. I also checked the power steering pump, expecting to see fluid having spilled out of it, but no such luck. Fluid level in the transmission appears to be correct as well. No apparent leaks from the transmission. Thoughts? Anybody?

Do you have a transmission cooler with leaky lines? Leaky power steering lines or leaky rack? If you can smell it, most likely there is a puff of smoke when it burns off. I've had luck seeing the puff by running a rig after dark to add contrast and scanning around with a flashlight.

nah the trans cooler and lines look to be solid. that was one of the first things i thought of...after the power steering pump leak that i have. However, I have had the leak since the day i bought the vehicle and only now does the thing smell of ATF. The smell seems to come from that side of the vehicle, but I have washed out the engine compartment with degreaser on more than one occasion recently. So not sure what's the next step.
