Truck missing during low acceleration
not sure exactly how to describe this but my '93 22re is acting like it's running out of gas when I initially start accelerating. it idles fine, normally runs fine at higher speeds. I've been running it like this for months, just thought it was a minor issue with the fuel system, but now it seems to be getting worse. any ideas? now I'm worried about damage from running it long term like that.
thanks.
thanks.

OP, what have you done to diagnosis the problem?
Condition of spark plugs, wires and other ignition components?
Timing correct?
Vacuum leak?
Ground wires all connected and not corroded?
Clean air filter?
Fuel filter dirty?
In other words, start with basic maintenance items and go from there.

Goin off on a limb here.. If youre mpg is dropping and pickup is acting funky, probably getting too much gas?? Im a carb kinda guy, and thats what happens with carbs. Just getting too much gas at all RPM. At higher rpm might run better cause its wide open and running quick, but at pickup theres strain, throttle is more open, but low rpm so maybe floodin out? Try going up a hill, do it on purpose, and check if your plugs are wet right after it happens. And overall check if your plugs are black. If theyre black. Then probably running rich/ too much gas..

Mine is carb and dont got a cat, but since its carb it dont matter. I also had EFI without cat's either but never gave me that kinda problems...But maybe it could be the o2 sensor since theres no cat.. If the o2 sensor is still good there shouldnt be problems, but if its bad it might do that... It didnt throw a check engine light? did you check the plugs yet??
