first off i realize this may seem a bit unconventional. i found a nice 89 4runner with great interior and decent body with no motor or tranny for a good price. i thought well ive got a bunch of 22re gen1 4runners and motors i surely can swap it in easily. ummm... ya. thats how it came about. truthfully id rather have the 4 cyl than the 3.0 any day. anyhow the motor is in place, my problem is getting it wired in. ive got the 22re computer and the 22re engine harness hooked up. the AFM is also hooked up. the EFI main relay and circuit opening relay seem to be working, as it the fuel pump. the challenge is splicing the 89 3.0 chassis harness into the 87 22re engine harness. the motor will fire easily, but sputters and dies instantly. will not respond to throttle input either. i cant find any info on body harness plugs (wire color and location) just ECM plugs. i am getting quite frustrated and got to thinking about putting a 3.4 instead but that swap has its problems too. can anyone help with the 22re swap? any info GREATLY appreciated!!!
